12. If necessary, back off the screw securing
plate l to the machine frame.
13. Secure the rod of the gas piston on the back
of the bench to plate l at the bottom of the
lower cross bar, using the screw and nut m.
Tighten the self-locking nut in such a
way that the piston rod is able to rotate
freely about the screw, leaving about 1
mm of play.
14. Bring the bench to the vertical position and
adjust the cams so that the hook n on the
upper cross bar coincides with the centre of
the slot on the bench at a height x.
15. Lock down the cam fixing screws i.
16. Insert a screwdriver into the holes on plate o
and rotate until the plate is up against frame,
as indicated in the figure, in order to pre-load
the piston.
