2.2.8 Connecting of the accumulator battery
Figure 20. Connecting the accumulator battery to the main power source.
· Connect the red cable to the positive pole of the battery, the black cable – to the negative battery
pole. Both of the cables are connected to the battery by means of a flat terminal lug Ø5mm.
· Connect the cable with the built-in thermo resistor to the negative battery pole.
· Check the presence and proper working of the automobile fuse 10A, situated in the terminal for
connection between the battery and the power source.
!
Important: Never cut or shorten the cable with the built-in thermo resistor! That will cause
harm to the normal charging process of the battery!
ATTENTION: The connection between the accumulator battery and the main power source has some spe-
cial features. It is strongly recommended to use only battery with electrical characteristics and dimensions
pointed from the manufacturer. Before connecting to the power source check the polarity of the battery. The
battery cannot power up the panel before the mains supply has been switched on. Connect the battery after
the mains supply is turned on. If the battery is new it will take a few hours before its complete charging!
The charging of the accumulator battery is done at maximum current Imax = 2A and charging voltage Ucha
-
rge < 13,8V.
The charging of the battery depends on its temperature. The temperature is monitored by means of
a thermo-resistor build-in the black cable without flat terminal lug at the end – Figure 20. Never cut
or shorten the cable with the built-in thermo resistor, because that will harm the normal charging of
the battery!
