4.3.5.2 Information Beeper Function ON/OFF
TH2816B beeps when a warning message is displayed or an error has occurred.
Perform the following steps to set beeper function to ON or OFF.
1) Move the cursor to the INFO BEEP field, the following softkeys will be displayed.

2) Use the softkeys to set the information beeper function to ON and OFF.
4.3.5.3 Comparator Alarm Function ON/OFF
TH2816B alarms when the comparator result is the same as the preset alarm status.
Perform the following steps to set the alarm status to be alarmed.
1) Move the cursor to the CMP ALARM field, the following softkeys will be
displayed.

2) Use the softkeys to set the alarm status you want.
4.3.5.4 Password Function
TH2816B’s password function can be used to prevent unauthorized person to turn on
the instrument, or to prevent unauthorized person to operate from the front panel
keyboard.
Perform the following steps to set the password function or change the password.
1) Move the cursor to the PASSWORD field, the following softkeys will be
displayed.

ALWAY
UNLK
OFF
2) Press softkey NEW. Message “Old Password:” is displayed in the message
window. The old password is required to input correctly. Press the ESC softkey, if
you want to cancel the change password operation.
3) When the old password is inputted correctly, message “New Password:” is
displayed in the message window. Use the numeric entry keys to input the new
password. Press the ESC softkey, if you want to cancel the change password
operation.
4) When the new password is inputted, the message “Confirm Password:” is
displayed in the message window. Press the ESC softkey, if you want to cancel
the change password operation. The new password must be inputted correctly
again, before the new password is valid.
5) Press AWAY. The password is required both to turn on the TH2816B and to
unlock the key operation on front panel. “ALWAYS” will be displayed on the LCD.
6) Press UNLK. Message “Enter Password:” will be displayed, when you change
the password status from “AWAYS” to “UNLOCK”. When the password status is
“UNLOCK” status, the password is required only to unlock the key operation on
front panel.
7) Press OFF. Message “Enter Password:” will be displayed, when you change the
password status from “AWAYS”/“UNLOCK” to OFF. When the password status is
“OFF” status, no password is required both to turn on the instrument and to
unlock the key operation on front panel.
Note: The default password for TH2816B is 2816.
