2. Remove the nylock nut and washer from the
steering shaft.
Note: Ensure that the foam collar remains on
the steering shaft ( Figure 13 ).
3. Slide the steering wheel and washer onto the
steering shaft ( Figure 13 ).
4. Use the nylock nut to secure the steering wheel
to the shaft. T ighten the nylock nut to 27 to 35
N∙m (20 to 26 ft-lb).
5. Mount the cover to the steering wheel ( Figure
13 ).

Installing the Sound Decal
Models 31907A and 31909A
Parts needed for this procedure:

Sound decal (Part 144-0512)
Procedure
For Models 31907A and 31909A, install the sound
decal (Part 144-0512) near the model year decal as
shown in Figure 14 .
Ensure that the surface is clean and dry .
