Storage Safety
• Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all movement to stop before you leave the
operator ’ s position. Allow the machine to cool
before adjusting, servicing, cleaning, or storing it.
• Do not store the machine or fuel container where
there is an open ame, spark, or pilot light, such
as on a water heater or other appliance.
Preparing the Machine
Important: Do not use brackish or reclaimed
water to clean the machine.
1. Park the machine on a level surface; engage the
parking brake; shut of f the engine; remove the
key; and wait for all movement to stop before
leaving the machine.
2. Thoroughly clean the machine, cutting unit, and
engine.
Important: Do not use high-pressure water
near the electrical controls or cab seals, as
this may cause damage.
3. Check and adjust the air pressure in the tires;
refer to Checking the T ire Air Pressure ( page
35 ) .
4. Check the hydraulic lines and hoses; repair
them as necessary .
5. Check the hydraulic-uid level; refer to Checking
the Hydraulic-Fluid Level ( page 69 ) .
6. Remove, sharpen, balance, and install the
cutting-unit blades.
7. Check for loose fasteners and tighten them as
necessary .
8. Lubricate all grease ttings and apply oil to pivot
points. Wipe clean any excess lubricant.
9. Lightly sand and use touch-up paint on painted
areas that are scratched, chipped, or rusted.
Repair any dents in the metal body .
