1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdecks,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removethecuttingdeckfromthefrontliftarmtoberemoved;referto
RemovingtheCuttingDeckCarrierFrame(page7–24).

3.Disconnecttheliftcylinderfromtheliftarm(item5inFigure221)asfollows:
A.Remove1retainingringandthrustwasherfromthecylinderpinthat
securestheliftcylindertotheliftarm.
B.Pullthecylinderpinfromtheliftcylinderandliftarm.Locateandretrieve
thesecondthrustwasher.
C.Pivottheliftcylinderrodendawayfromtheliftarm.
4.Removethefastenersthatsecurethetipperbracket(item8or18inFigure
220)tothemachine,andremovethetipperbracket.
5.Slidethefrontliftarmfromtheliftarmpivotshaft(item3inFigure220).
6.Inspecttheangebushingsintheliftarmforwearordamage.Ifnecessary,
replacethebushingsasfollows:
Note:Donotdamagetheboreoftheliftarmduringbushingremoval.
A.Useabushingremovaltooltoextractboththeangebushingsfromthe
liftarm.
B.Cleantheinsideoftheboretoremoveanydirtorunwantedmaterial.
C.Applygreasetotheinnerandoutersurfacesofthenewbushings.
D.Useanarborpresstoinstallthebushingsintotheliftarm.Liftarm
bushingsshouldbepresseduntilbushingangeisagainsttheliftarm
bore.
E.Afterbushinginstallation,ensurethattheliftarmslideseasilyontothe
pivotshaft.Ifthereisanybinding,locateandcorrectthesourceof
binding.
7.Ifnecessary,removetheboltthatsecuresthecuttingdeckpivotshaft(item
7inFigure220)intheliftarm.Removethecuttingdeckpivotshaftfrom
theliftarm.
8.Ifnecessary,removetherollpinandliftarmpivotshaft(item3inFigure220)
fromtheframe.Discardtherollpin.
