IMPORTANT
Clampingthevisejawsagainsttherodsurfacecoulddamagethe
rod.Whensecuringtherodinavise,clamptherodclevisonly.
3.Mounttherodcorrectlyinavisebyclampingontheclevisoftherod,and
dothefollowingsteps:
A.Putacoatingofcleanhydraulicuidontherod.
B.Slidetheheadontotherod.
C.Installthepistonontotherodandattachthepistonwiththelocknut;
torquethelocknutto339to406N∙m(250to300ft-lb).
D.Removetheshaftassemblyfromthevise.
IMPORTANT
Whenyouclampthehydrauliccylinderinavise,clamptheclevis
endofthecylinderheadonlytopreventdamage.
4.Mountthecylinderheadcorrectlyinavisebyclampingontheclevisend
ofthecylinderhead.
IMPORTANT
Wheninstallingtheheadintothecylinderhead,paycarefulattention
totheretainingringslotinthecylinderheadtoensurethatthe
pistonandheadsealsdonotlodgeintheslot.
5.Putalightcoatingofcleanhydraulicuidonallinternalparts.Slidethe
piston,shaft,andheadassemblyintothecylinderhead.
Note:Donotdamagetheseals.
6.Installtheretainingringandinserttheheadinthecylinderhead.Alignthe
retainingringholeintheheadwiththeaccessslotinthecylinderhead.Insert
theretainingringhookintotheholeandrotatetheheadclockwiseuntilthe
retainingringiscompletelypulledintothecylinderheadandtheringends
arecovered.
