7.TurnthekeyswitchtotheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine)andcheck
theLEDonthecableendoftheparkingbrakesensor.TheLEDshouldbe
illuminatedwhentheparkingbrakeisnotset(thebrakelatchisnotengaged).
8.WiththekeyswitchisstillintheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine),set
theparkingbrake(thebrakelatchengaged)andchecktheLEDonthecable
endoftheparkingbrakesensor.TheLEDshouldnotbeilluminatedwhen
theparkingbrakeisset(thebrakelatchengaged).
9.IfthebrakesensorLEDdidnotfunctioncorrectly,dothefollowing:
A.Ensurethattheparkingbrakesensorisproperlyadjusted;referto
ParkingBrakeSensor(page5–54).Ifnecessary,adjustthesensorand
returntostep7.
B.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionanddisconnectthe
parkingbrakesensorconnectorfromthemachinewireharness.
C.Useamultimeter,checkthatthemachinewireharnessconnector
terminalfortheblackwireisclosed(continuity)totheground.
D.TurnthekeyswitchtotheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine)and
checkwithamultimeterthatthemachinewireharnessconnectorterminal
forpinkwirehassystemvoltage(12VDC)present.
E.Iftheblackwireisclosedtotheground,thepinkwirehassystemvoltage
present,andthesensorLEDdidnotfunction,replacetheparkingbrake
sensor.Adjustthesensorafterinstallation;refertoParkingBrakeSensor
(page5–54).
10.Afteryoucompletethebrakesensortesting,ensurethatthesensor
connectorispluggedintothemachinewireharness.
