fuelbeforestartingtheengine.
•Storefuelinaclean,safety-approvedcontainerandkeepthecap
inplace.
•Usedieselfuelasanenginefuelonly,notforanyotherpurpose.
CheckingtheFuelLinesandConnections
Note:ThefueltanksoftheGroundsmaster7210machineareconnectedtoa
hydraulicteetting(item34inFigure14)undertheoperatorseat.Ifyouremove
eitherofthefueltanksfromthemachine,ensurethatthefuelisremovedfrom
boththetanksbeforeyoudisconnectanyofthefuelhoses.
Checkthefuellinesandconnectionsatthescheduledmaintenanceintervals
recommendedintheTractionUnitOperator'sManual.Checkthelinesfor
deterioration,damage,leaks,orlooseconnections.Replacethehoses,clamps,
andttingsasnecessary.
PrimingtheFuelSystem
Thefuelsystemneedstobeprimedbeforestartingtheengineforthersttime,
afterrunningoutoffuelorafterfuelsystemmaintenance(e.g.,drainingthe
fuel/waterseparator,replacingafuelhose).T oprimethefuelsystem,ensurethat
thefueltankhasfuelinit.Then,turnandholdthekeyswitchintheRUNposition
for10to15secondswhichallowsthefuelpumptoprimethefuelsystem.Donot
usetheenginestartermotortocranktheengineinordertoprimethefuelsystem.
RemovingtheFuelTanks
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck(orimplement),
shutofftheengine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
keyswitch.
2.Unlatchthehoodandraiseit.
3.Removethenegativebatterycablefromthenegativepostofthebattery.
4.Allowtheenginetocompletelycool.
5.Raisetheoperatorseat.
6.Useafueltransferpumptoremovethefuelfrombothofthefueltanks.
Note:Labelthefuelhosesifnecessarytoassurecorrectinstallation.
7.Disconnecttheventhosesfromthetopofeachfueltank.
8.Disconnectthereturnhosesfromthebackofeachfueltank.
9.Disconnectthesupplyhosesfromthebottomofeachfuelline.
10.Attherightfueltank,loosenthe2swelllatches(item5inFigure15)and
removetheaccesscoverofthecontrolpanel.Positionthecoverawayfrom
thefueltank.
