13.Removethe7screws(item17inFigure16)and7lockwashersthatsecure
theywheelhousingtotheengine.
14.Removethelocknut(item2inFigure16),snubbingwasher,andscrewthat
secureseachsideoftheenginetotheenginemountsthatareattached
totheframe.
IMPORTANT
Whenremovingtheengineensurethatyoudonotdamagethe
engine,ywheelhousing,fuelhoses,hydrauliclines,electrical
harnessorotherparts.Also,ensurethatthetransmissiondoes
notshiftduringengineremoval.
15.Supportthetransmissiontopreventitfrommovingduringengineremoval.
CAUTION
Use1persontooperatetheliftorhoistwhiletheotherperson
guidestheenginefromthemachine.
16.Slidetheenginebackwardacoupleofinchestoseparateitfromthe
transmissioninputshaft.Carefullyraisetheenginefromthemachine.
17.Ifnecessary,removethe8bolts(item25inFigure16)thatsecuretheywheel
couplingtotheengine,andremovetheywheelcouplingfromtheengine.
InstallingtheEngine
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatallpartsremovedfromtheengineduringmaintenance
oroverhaularecorrectlyinstalledontheengine.
1.Applyanti-seizelubricanttothesplinesofthetransmissioninputshaft.
2.Ifremoved,installtheywheelcouplingtotheenginewiththe8bolts(item
25inFigure16),applyredgelthreadlockertothebolts,andtorquethebolts
to25.8to29.8N·m(19to22ft-lb).
3.Ifthe2motormounts(item3inFigure16)wereremoved,installthe2motor
mountstotheenginewiththe8screwsand8lockwashers;torquethe
screwsto32.5to56.9N·m(24to42ft-lb).
4.Ifthedualtemperatureswitchwasremoved,applypipethreadsealantto
theswitch.
CAUTION
Theengineisveryheavy,andahoistnotratedfortheweightofthe
enginemayfail,causingpossibleinjuryanddamagetotheengine.
Usehoistequipmentratedtolifttheengine,whichisapproximately
188kg(414lb).
