TestProcedure
1.Ensurethatthehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperature.
2.EnsurethatthetractiondriveiscorrectlyadjustedfortheNEUTRALposition.
WARNING
Beforedisconnectingordoinganyworkonthehydraulicsystem,
releaseallthepressureinthesystem;refertoReleasingPressure
fromtheHydraulicSystem(page4–11).
3.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck(orimplement),
andshutofftheengine.
4.ReadallWarning,Cautions,andprecautionslistedatthebeginningofthis
section.

5.Liftandsupportthemachinewithjackstandssothatthe2rearwheelsareoff
theground.Inthistest,therearwheelsneedtospinfreelytoallowhydraulic
owthroughthetractioncircuit.

6.Cleanthetransmissionareaaroundthetractioncircuithosesonthetopof
thetransmission(Figure41).Determinewhichpistonpumpistobetested.
7.Disconnectthehydraulichosefromthetransmissionpumpoutletttingto
testthepistonpump(Figure41):

8.Installahydraulictester(pressureandow)inseriesbetweenthepump
outletttinganddisconnectedhose.Ensurethatthetesterowarrowpoints
fromthepumpoutletandtowardthehose.Ensurethattheow-controlvalve
onthetesterisfullyopen.
9.Sitintheoperatorseat,starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed(1,400
rpm).Checkforanyhydraulic-uidleaksfromthetestconnectionsand
correctbeforecontinuingthetest.
IMPORTANT
Donotruntheengineatfullspeedwhenperformingthisowtest
usingTorohydraulictester(pressureandow)(TOR214678).The
tractionpumpoutputatfullenginespeedcandamagethehydraulic
tester.
