3.2 System examples
3.2.1 Planning information
Inside the unit:
Return temperature control with underfloor heating: In single-circuit installations
that do not have a low loss header in the boiler's DIA system and are designed to
provide underfloor heating, the control type can be changed from flow to return
temperature control.
In installations that have a low loss header and a VRC 700/2 control system,
the required VR 10 external flow temperature sensor is connected to the ProE X41
plug of the unit's electronic circuitry (terminals 0 and RF) or to the VR 70 module.
Controlling the circulation pump: If the boiler does not have the required connec-
tion terminals, the circulation pump can be controlled using the "multi-functional
module 2 of 7" (VR 40) accessory unit or, if available, a VR 70 module.
Control:
Circulation/legionella protection pump: In conjunction with a multiMATIC 700/2,
the pump can be programmed to operate at specific times.
Hydraulics
Safety devices: When planning the system, check whether there are safety devices
(expansion relief valve and expansion vessel) of a sufficient size in the units. If this
is not the case, additional components must be installed in the system. When de-
signing the system, DIN EN 12828 must be observed for each heat generation cir-
cuit.
Dirt filter: It is recommended that clients fit a dirt filter to protect the heat generators
and system components in old systems from excessive ingress of dirt.
3.2.2 Preliminary note to the following system diagrams
System diagrams 3, 4, and 5 are currently not supported. You can find an overview of
the system diagrams and configurations for VR 70 and VR 71 in section 5.2, "Start-up".
In the following there is shown one example for all systems diagrams. A com-
plete overview of all system diagrams can be found in the system diagram
book.
