4.5.2 Sensors
If an outside temperature sensor with DCF receiver is connected to the boiler, the date
and time are set automatically and the outside temperature is displayed.
The temperature sensor integrated in the controller is used for control functions and
temperature display in the controller display. If the controller is fitted in a heat genera-
tor, certain displays and functions are deactivated as appropriate.
The standard VR 10 sensors are used as flow sensors and cylinder sensors. The col-
lector temperature is measured using a VR 11.
All sensors (apart from the collector temperature sensor) are continuously monitored
for short circuiting or open circuiting. There is no further logic control.
4.5.3 DCF signal
If the controller receives a remote time signal, the date and time are shown on the dis-
play. A prerequisite for this is that the DCF signal is detected twice consecutively with-
out error. If operation is without DCF reception the date and time can be entered man-
ually. A switch-over between summer and winter time can also be activated. This takes
place on the last Sunday in March (the time skips from 01:59 to 03:00) and on the last
Sunday in October (the time skips from 02:59 to 02:00).
4.5.4 Energy manager
The energy manager assesses all the heat requirements and determines the target
flow temperature requirement at the heat generator.
Special requirements such as cylinder charging or chimney sweep mode are also tak-
en into account.
4.5.5 Chimney sweep mode
Chimney sweep mode is activated on the heat generator rather than the controller. The
controller automatically ensures that all heating circuits are operated with the highest
permissible flow temperature (the value set in the installer level under the "Maximum
temperature" menu item).
