The solar pump boost/tube collector function
optimises measuring of the tube collector
temperature and charging/switching when
two cylinders are used.
When the "solar pump boost" function is acti-
vated, the solar pump is operated in cycles in
order to measure the real collector tempera-
ture and switch the solar pump back on at the
right time.
Solar pump boost is only active if:
● the function is switched on,
● the collector field is not in stagnation,
● the maximum cylinder temperature has
not been reached.
If the solar pump is switched off (switch-off
hysteresis reached), the current collector
temperature is saved.
The solar pump is switched on for 15 sec-
onds once the collector temperature at the collector temperature sensor has risen by 2
K due to solar radiation.
If the switch-on differential is reached after 15 seconds, the solar pump goes into regu-
lar operation again.
If the switch-on temperature difference is not reached, the current collector tempera-
ture is saved as a reference value. Pump boost is carried out again when the meas-
ured collector temperature has risen by 2 K again.
Solar circuit protection function
If the solar heat available exceeds the current heat demand – e.g. all cylinders are
heated to the maximum cylinder temperature – the solar pump is switched off perma-
nently. The temperature in the collectors increases quickly and there is a steam bubble
build-up in the system (stagnation).
This stagnation may also arise during operation if:
the system is run with very high cylinder temperatures, > 70 °C and
