SuperTap’s feedback section has three modes:
Off – Feedback is off
Tap FB – In Tap Feedback mode, the feedback has its own delay time, so setting a rhythm
with the taps and setting the Feedback delay time to the length of a measure repeats the entire
measure. A gain setting of 50% means each iteration is reduced in amplitude by 6 dB (half
the volume); a setting of 100% cycles that tap endlessly.
If the feedback delay is shorter than the other taps, the feedback delay plays part way over the
tap delay, which creates very complex rhythmic effects that are difficult to describe!
Classic – Normal feedback mode sends each tap back the input. The Feedback delay slider is
grayed out and cannot be moved. This mode poses the greatest risk of positive gain feedback:
increasing loudness into distortion. Be very careful but there are interesting effects using con-
trolled feedback.

Panning a stereo signal is a cool and unusual effect within a feedback loop. For a mono signal,
Rotation is like a pan control without a pan law (no volume dip in the center). For a stereo
input, Rotation provides amazing, unexpected effects because most people have little experi-
ence with moving an entire stereo image without collapsing its image width.
Rotating a signal hard left or hard right (-45º or 45º) shifts the entire stereo signal dramatical-
ly each time through the feedback loop. This creates antiphase signals and other interesting
stereo placement effects.
The following demonstrates an interesting example of Rotation in Feedback:
1. Set one tap for a 500 ms delay.
2.Select the Tap Feedback mode with 50% Gain.
3. Set Feedback delay to 1000 ms.
4. Set Rotation to -45º.
5. Play a small section of sound into SuperTap and listen as the sound rotates
in, and even seems to move outside, the stereo field.
