Checking the service brake and parking brake for function
WARNING
Accident hazard due to malfunctioning brakes!
The braking system is a crucial safety component. Improper maintenance
can lead to failure of the braking system. This may result in accidents that
could result in serious injury or death.
All repair work on the braking system may only be carried out by trained
personnel at an authorized service center.
► Check the brake function once a day.
ð If the brake fluid level drops between two checks, there is a defect
in the braking system.
► Do not operate the vehicle with malfunctioning brakes.
► Perform service according to the service intervals.
Check the function of the brake:
ü There must be no persons in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle.
▪ Carry out braking tests at low speed.
ð If the brake reacts differently than usual, do not operate the
vehicle.
ð Contact an authorized service center immediately.
