Reduced engine output
Repeated interruption of regeneration increases the soot load in the
diesel particulate filter. From a soot load of more than 143%, the engine
automatically lowers the engine output by 30%. In the display, the control
light
and the control light flashes.
From a soot load of more than 161%, the engine speed is also limited to
a maximum of 1200 rpm. In the display, the control light
flashes
quickly and the control light
flashes. The diesel particulate filter must
be replaced by the service department.

Fig.212: Switch for regeneration
If automatic regeneration was interrupted manually, it starts again after
restarting the engine as soon as the engine reaches its operating temper-
ature.
However, regeneration can also be started manually as soon as the
vehicle is no longer in the direct vicinity of easily flammable material. This
is appropriate if it helps to avoid interrupting automatic regeneration re-
peatedly, e.g. if the vehicle is in regular operation in the direct vicinity of
easily flammable material.
From a soot load of >100%, regeneration no longer starts automatically
and must be triggered manually.
Manually trigger regeneration
Prerequisites for manual regeneration:
ü The engine must reach operating temperature.
ü Control light
must illuminate.
1. Drive the vehicle into a safe environment where there are no easily
flammable materials.
2. Hold the switch in positionII for approx. 15 - 20 seconds.
ð Control light
lights up during the entire regeneration.
3. When regenerating in idle mode, switch off all electrical consumers.
ð During regeneration, the vehicle can be operated without restriction in
safe areas.
Regeneration takes about 30 minutes. This means that: If regeneration is
started, the engine must run until regeneration is over, even if work with
the vehicle is finished before.
The control light goes out once regeneration is over and the exhaust sys-
tem has cooled down
.
