Checking the ignition timing
NOTE:
Install the test propeller, when checking the
ignition timing.
1. Place the lower unit in water, and then
start the engine and warm it for 5 min-
utes.
2. Turn off the engine when the engine has
been completely warmed up.
3. Disconnect the throttle cable 1 and
remove the throttle link rod 2, then set
the control lever 2 3 to the full retard
position.
NOTE:
To disconnect and connect the throttle cable,
refer to page 3-7.
4. Attach the special service tool 4 and 5
to the spark plug wire #1, and then start
the engine. Check the engine idle speed
and ignition timing.
5. Check that the ignition timing is specified
position a, when the full retard.
