Periodic check and adjustment
3. While checking the dial gauge, slightly
turn the flywheel magnet counterclock-
wise to the specified position.
4. Check that the timing plate 2 is aligned
with the specified position.
5. If it is not aligned, loosen the tightening
screw 3 and align the timing plate with
the flywheel magnet at specified position,
then tighten the screw 3.
NOTE:
After adjusting the timing plate, turn the fly-
wheel magnet clockwise twice.
6. Remove the special service tools.
7. Start the engine, and then check the igni-
tion timing once more. Check the control
link, if the ignition timing is out of specifi-
cation.
NOTE:
To check the control link, refer to page 3-6.
Checking the ignition timing stopper
1. Disconnect the throttle cable and remove
the throttle link rod.
NOTE:
To disconnect and connect the throttle cable,
refer to page 3-7.
2. Slowly turn the flywheel magnet clock-
wise, and check that the timing plate 1 is
aligned with the scale a on the flywheel
magnet in the specified position.
3. Set the control lever 2 2 to the full
advanced position, and then check that
the adjusting screw 3 comes in contact
with the control lever 2.

55D, 75A: 3.42 mm (0.14 in)
85A: 4.05 mm (0.16 in)

55D, 75A: BTDC 22°
