6. Set the control lever 2 3 to full advanced
position.
7. Check that the ignition timing advances
to the specified position b, when the full
advanced.
8. If the ignition timing is not specification,
check the ignition timing plate position
and timing stopper position.
NOTE:
9 To check the timing plate, refer to next pro-
cedure.

55D, 75A: BTDC 21–23°
85A: BTDC 23–25°
9. Turn off the engine, and then remove the
special service tools.
10. Install the throttle link rod and connect
the throttle cable.
Checking the timing plate
NOTE:
Remove the all spark plugs and lock plate
before adjusting the timing plate.
1. Slowly turn the flywheel magnet clock-
wise and align it with the piston of the #1
cylinder at the TDC.
2. Install the special service tool 1 into the
#1 cylinder.
NOTE:
Set the dial gauge to “zero” position which is
more than 4 mm from TDC.
