INSTALLING MATERIAL CONTAINERS
IRRITANT! Wear protective clothing, disposable nitrile gloves, and goggles, while performing the following
steps:
NOTE: Before adding a new container, make sure that the material bin is empty. If a container is present, refer
to the section “Material Container Removal” on page 53 before continuing.
To place a material container into the MDM, perform the following steps:
1. Make sure you have access to the MDM. If it is in the print chamber, unlock and open the door.
2. Obtain a material container, ensuring that it is the same material that is currently installed in the MDM.
3. Verify the material bin is clean of any material and is completely dry if alcohol has been used to clean it.
4. Pull the material bin’s release lever away from the MDM to a 45° angle from the vertical position.
5. Insert the material container into the slot.
6. Look at the status on the user interface. If the status is okay, push the container until you hear a click. Try to lift up on the
container lightly. If it does not easily release, it is properly installed.
7. Remove the vent cap. If the container is new, puncture a small hole in the vent using something with a sharp point, such as
a screw driver or drill bit.
NOTE: All containers have a depression in the area to be punctured. Unless the vent has been previously
punctured, and you are very certain of this, puncture the vent.
8. Pull the release lever up to close the material bin, until it latches securely.
9. Close the print chamber door.
