To install the 3ware kernel driver module while installing Red Hat
Linux on a new unit
1 Boot with the Red Hat CD:
a Insert the Red Hat CD-ROM disk into your computer.
b Make sure the boot order in your motherboard’s BIOS is correct; then
start or reboot your computer.
c When the Welcome to Red Hat display appears, you can either type:
linux dd
expert
Or you can type:
expert text
A number of files will load and then a message will prompt you to
insert your driver install disk.
4 Install the 3ware kernel driver module, using the driver install diskette:
Insert the driver install diskette containing the 3ware driver for Red Hat
and press Enter.
The system automatically reports:
Loading 3w-9xxx
5 When prompted, select the proper language and keyboard types for your
locality.
6 If asked for what type of media, select Local CD-ROM since you are
installing from the Red Hat CD-ROM.
