Driver Installation Under FreeBSD
Note: Before installing the 3ware driver, you must have already
installed your 3ware RAID controller in the system. Consult the
installation guide that came with your controller for how to do this.
You can download the installation guide from: http://
www.3ware.com/support/userdocs.asp
A drive or unit managed by the 3ware RAID controller may be configured to
be your system's boot device. Or, you can use another device as your boot
device, such as a disk attached to the motherboard.
Obtaining 3ware FreeBSD Drivers
The 3ware software CD-ROM that came with the 3ware RAID controller
includes compiled and tested kernel driver modules for FreeBSD 5.4 only. To
see if a more recent driver is available, please see the 3ware web site at http://
www.3ware.com/support/index.asp.
