Removing the brake release unit
Use these procedures to remove the brake release unit.

• electric power supply
• hydraulic pressure supply
• air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the robot working area.

ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD)
The unit is sensitive to ESD. Before handling the unit
please read the safety information in the section The
unit is sensitive to ESD on page 32

Remove the push button guard from the SMB cover.
The push button guard must be removed to ensure
a correct refitting of the brake release unit.

Remove the SMB cover.4
The battery can stay connected, to avoid needing to
synchronize the robot.
CAUTION
Carefully put the SMB cover down to avoid damaging
the battery cable connectors.
