Oil Change for Axis 5 Gearbox (W8 )
• Move the upper arm to the horizontal position with axis 4 turned +90
o
.
• Open the oil plug 1, and then oil plug 2 so that air can enter.
• Manually release Axis 4 brake (see page 3-5) and rotate axis 4 manually
backwards and forwards to drain the oil, after first releasing the brake on
Axis 4.
• Clean the magnetic drain plug 1 before refitting.
• Turn Axis 4 90
o
before filling oil. Fill the oil through hole 1, until the oil is
level with the lower edge of the filler hole.
For S/2.9-120 Robots:
• Move the upper arm to the max. upper position before draining the oil.
• Move the upper arm to the vertical position before filling oil.
• Fill up with new oil until the oil is level with the edge of hole 1.
Volume:
5 litres (1.38 US gallon).
Correct oil level for axis 5 is to the lower edge of the oil level plug.
