Loading the microtiter
plates
NOTENOTE
If only calibrant will be dispensed, it is not necessary to load microtiter plates (calibrant is aspirated
from the calibrant reservoir). Skip this section and proceed to Loading the SpectroCHIP Arrays,
page 45.
IMPORTANT
!
If non-skirted plates were used, check plates for warping after thermocyling. Ensure that the plates
are seated flat on the processing deck.
A maximum of two microtiter plates of analyte can be loaded on the instrument deck.
To load a microtiter plate:
1. Open the main door.
The safety interlock is disengaged! dialog box appears.
2. If using a non-skirted 96-well microtiter plate, before loading it onto the deck, place
the plate on the 96-well fully skirted MTP plate base.
3. Place the first microtiter plate on plate holder 1:
a. Orient the plate so that well A1 is located at the lower left corner of the plate holder
(Figure 2.36).
b. Lower the right edge of the plate to the deck, making sure that the top edge seats
against the alignment post at the top of the plate position.
The spring-loaded positioner will engage.
4. If there is a second microtiter plate, place it on plate holder 2.
5. Leave the main door open so that SpectroCHIP Arrays can be loaded next.
