7. The mean volume (Mean) and coefficient of variation (CV) of the droplets are
displayed at the bottom of the Volume Check screen.
If the mean is outside the acceptable range but the CV is small, adjust the dispense
speed to deposit smaller or larger droplets as needed.
If the CV is high, scroll through the droplets and determine whether only particular
droplets are distinctly larger or smaller volume than the others. The corresponding
pins in the pin array may need servicing.
For either of the above circumstances, contact Agena Bioscience Customer Support
(see page 17) for assistance.
8. Disable volume check for the remainder of the run:
a. Tap the METHODS button on the Transfer screen.
b. On the Method screen, remove the check mark next to Volume Check Enable.
Figure B.2 Volume Checking During a Transfer Run
This example shows the Volume tab of the Transfer screen for an instrument with a 1-pin format. For a
6-pin instrument, there would be 6 droplet images; for a 24-pin instrument, there would be 24 images.
Note: The composite
image shows the
SpectroCHIP Array pads
as if they are adjacent to
each other; however, they
are actually separated by
several other pads. The
pins are not spaced to
land on adjacent pads;
they are spaced to land
on even multiples of
pads.
The composite image
of droplets shows the
SpectroCHIP Array
pads that received
analyte laid out like the
pin array.
