When the specified number is reached, no more attempts are made and the LSP path is put into the
shutdown state.
Use the config router mpls lsp lsp-name no shutdown command to bring up the path after the retry-
limit is exceeded.
The no form of this command revert the parameter to the default value.
Default 0 (no limit, retries forever)
Parameters number — The number of times software will attempt to re-establish the LSP after it has failed.
Allowed values are integers in the range of 0 to 10000 where 0 indicates to retry forever.
Values 0 — 10000
retry-timer
Syntax retry-timer seconds
no retry-timer
Context config>router>mpls>lsp
Description This command configures the time, in seconds, for LSP re-establishment attempts after it has failed.
The retry time is jittered to +/- 25% of its nominal value.
The no form of this command reverts to the default value.
Default 30
Parameters seconds — The amount of time, in seconds, between attempts to re-establish the LSP after it has
failed. Allowed values are integers in the range of 1 to 600.
Values 1 — 600
revert-timer
Syntax revert-timer timer-value
no revert-timer
Context
config>router>mpls>lsp
Description This command configures a revert timer on an LSP. The timer starts whn the LSP prmary path
recovers from a failure. The LSP reverts from a secondary path to the primary path when the timer
expires, or when the secondary path fails.
The no form of this command cancels any currently outstanding revert timer. If the LSP is up when a
no revert-timer is issued, the LSP will revert to the primary path. Otherwise the LSP reverts when the
primary path is restored.
