Redundant System Restrictions
Introduction
This appendix explains the known restrictions affecting a redundant
system.
Redundant System
Restrictions
There are several restricted features and functions in a redundant
system.
Do not use any of these features in a ControlLogix redundancy
system.
• Local chassis I/O, 1756-DHRIO, or 1756-DNB modules.
• Event task.
• Inhibit a task.
• Motion control, such as these modules:
– 1756-HYD02
– 1756-L60M03SE
– 1756-M02AE
– 1756-M02AS
– 1756-M03SE
– 1756-M08SE
– 1756-M16SE
IMPORTANT
In a redundant system, use an EtherNet/IP network only for
HMI/workstation communication and messaging.
Do not use an EtherNet/IP network for:
• communication with I/O modules.
• communication between devices via produced/consumed
tags.
