Create a new user on the target UPLC-II.

(The command above creates a new user on the
UPLC-II with a user name of “newman” and a pass-
word of “n”, as a GUEST user and an optional
description of “test”.)
Allowed user permissions values (must be exact):
GUEST
USER
ADMINISTRATOR
SUPERUSER
Note: The management
user interface is restricted
to one management user in
the UPLC-II. Therefore, it
is not possible to create a management user using
this interface.
For the parameters “username” and “password”, the
length of the value is restricted to 32 characters.
Any excess characters are truncated.
For the parameter “description”, the length of the
value is restricted to 100 characters.
Warning: Please note that using this service via a
browser requires that the username and password
must be typed in clear text. Be sure to clear the
browser cache if using this service via a browser.
Verification of the new user creation via the normal
web interface returns Fig. D–8.
To create a new user, it is required that the parame-
ters “username”, “password” and “permissions” are
supplied. The parameter “description” is optional
and may be omitted.
