Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the E3 e-m@iler. The machine combines a multitude of
features including telephone, handsfree-speakerphone, videophone, email sender/
receiver, text message sender/receiver, fax sender, internet web surfer, games
console, VoiceMail answering machine and electronic Address Book.
As well as normal telephone and handsfree-speakerphone facilities, your
e-m@iler
incorporates a videophone so that you can make video calls (to other
E3 e-m@ilers)
and see the person you’re speaking to on the colour LCD screen.
Your
e-m@iler allows you to send and receive email messages. Messages can be
typed using the pull-out keyboard and are displayed on the screen. You can send email
messages with photo and/or voice attachments as well as receive or forward
messages with graphics and sound attachments. You can also leave memos for other
users (or yourself). Memos are free of charge and may include a photo and/or voice
message.
Additionally, your
e-m@iler allows you to send text messages or picture messages to
mobile phones and receive text and picture replies. On top of this, you can also send
fax messages – this enables you to communicate with people who aren't on email but
do have a fax machine.
Your
e-m@iler features Amsurf which opens up the wide world of the internet to your
screen. You can 'log on' and surf the many thousands of low-graphics internet web
sites as well as a number of full web sites. All this provides a vast library of online
information for you to browse. If you’ve connected a printer, you can print web pages.
Your
e-m@iler also provides a varied and regularly updated library of games – all you
have to do is choose a game, download it and play it. You can have several games
downloaded in the
e-m@iler at one time. To make gameplay faster, easier and more
fun, a GamePad is provided. The GamePad is a handheld games controller which
simply plugs into the e-m@iler and keyboard.
The Address Book section of this machine replaces your old hand-written book of
names and numbers etc. You can programme up to 700 names in the Address Book
memory, and under each name store a home number, office number, mobile number
and fax number as well as an email address and postal address. Once programmed,
you simply type in a name so it appears on the display and then press the appropriate
button to dial the number or compose an email, text or fax message.
The
e-m@iler has downloadable polyphonic ringtones and can be set to play the tune
of your choice whenever the phone rings. The built-in answering machine – VoiceMail
– stores incoming messages and memos. You can listen to your VoiceMail messages
either at the
e-m@iler itself or by phone from another location. Note that VoiceMail is
digital and therefore tapeless – you can select and play messages instantly.
