F-FEM-DDC Users Guide
4.4 Digital Outputs Relay
The relay outputs are dedicated for lower frequency switching channels and for
AC voltages. Due to the change-over contacts you can realize both - normal
open and normal close function.
If you need a higher switching current you can connect channels in parallel, but
please consider a degradation of 20 % for the total current!
A maximum of 4 channels can be connected in parallel.
Example
3 relay channels in parallel can drive
(3 * 1 - 20% = ) 2.4 A in total.
NOTICE
When switching inductive loads, you must connect a freewheeling diode exter-
nally to prevent inductive overvoltage that can decrease the lifetime of the relay.
The load dump voltage must be limited to max. 60 V externally.
