4.6 Frequency Outputs
This function is only available with PUMA Open version 1.5.1 and upwards.
A programmable frequency with a variable pulse width (duty cycle) is realized via
the 8 transistor outputs on X53 and X54.
Due to the missing current sink capability of the high side switches an additional
pull-down resistor is required for every frequency output.
These resistors can be mounted in the connector case or directly to the load.
Resistor values in a range of 74 Ohm to 2200 Ohm are recommended,
depending on the current of the load. The total current of 700 mA should not be
exceeded. Please consider also the power requirements of the resistor
depending on the supply voltage.
See Tab. 15 on page 47 for the electrical specifications of the transistor outputs.
For parameterizing details please see the F-FEM Parameterization.
