F-FEM-DDC — User’s Guide
4.7 Aging and Calibration
4.7.1
General
Due to the use of most up-to-date technologies, the F-FEM-DDC reaches accu-
racy levels which in the past were reserved to laboratory equipment. These
accuracy levels can thus only be checked using laboratory equipment that has
an accuracy that is at least four times higher. The measurement and reference
equipment for the calibration should have an accuracy that is four times higher
than that of the instrument to be calibrated. The ambience conditions during the
calibration also play a decisive role. The best place for a reliable calibration is in
the laboratory. In the test cell only checks can be performed which ensure the
Procedure
4.7.2
Procedure
The analog inputs and outputs are adjusted during production, i.e. offset or gain
errors are minimized or eliminated. The adjustment values are then stored in the
module, i.e. changes are made in the device.
During the calibration, the system checks whether the accuracy still lies within
the defined limits. No changes are made to the module.
If the specified limits are exceeded, the following can be done:
Readjustment at AVL, or
Removing errors in the PUMA system with the help of a calibration table.
Recommended device:
HP3458A Precision DVM
Information
We recommend that the accuracy be checked every 12 months.
