1.4. DISTRESS SIGNAL
The distress signal option is a valuable safety feature. The distress signal is activated using a
switch usually installed near the bus driver and out of sight of the passengers. It is
connected directly to the Control Unit a single-wire cable.
The operator simply has to activate the switch and all the Destination Signs of the system
display the programmed distress message for example “HELP CALL 911”. This prompts
passers-by to call for help on behalf of the operator and allows emergency services to easily
identify the vehicle needing assistance.
1.5. “YIELD” SIGNAL
The YIELD option is a signal the operator can activate. This signal displays a message to the
vehicles following the bus requesting to give way to the bus. The yield signal is activated
using a switch usually located by the operator. It is connected directly to the Control Unit by a
single-wire cable.
The operator simply has to activate the switch to display the “YIELD” message on the Rear
sign for a configurable minimum delay or as long as the signal is activated.
