Cause Remedy
POOR PERFORMANCE
- Clogged air cleaner
- Defective spark plug
- Inefficient starting device (it remains connected)
- Dirty carburetor
- Inadequate carburation
- Loss of compression
- Excessive carbon deposits
(in the combustion chamber and exhaust ports)
- Clean
- Check that the spark plug is of the recommended type
- Check the mechanical slide and electrical connection
- Disassemble completely, wash with premium petrol and
dry with compressed air
- Check the vehicles correct carburation
- Rings are glued or worn (replace)
Head gasket is damaged (replace)
- Descale

STARTING TROUBLES
- Flooded engine
- Fuel supply is insufficient
- Inefficient starting device
- Dirty carburetor
- Spark plug’s spark (weak or absent)
- Loss of compression
- Start the engine at full gas. In case it does not start, disas-
semble the spark plug, clean or replace. Before refitting it,
run the engine to discharge mixture in excess.
- Check the air cleaner.
- Check the fuel pipe’s integrity.
- Check the correct operation of the vacuum-operated cock.
- Check the fillercap’s correct operation (suction).
- Check the mechanical slide and electrical connection.
- Disassemble completely, wash with premium petrol and
dry with compressed air.
- Check that the spark plug is of the recommended type.
- check the AT cable.
- clean the spark plug.
- Rings are glued or worn (replace).
- Head gasket is damaged (replace).
