1.2.6 Power strip
The power distribution unit (BCS-PDU) is recommended for configuration consisting of at
least three BCS-815 modules. For the configuration with BCS-805 and BCS-810 a 9-outlet
power strip is proposed with the BCSC-24U and BCSC-12U cabinets. The power strip offers
10A capacity AC power distribution and includes an IEC-60320-C14 inlet for power entry and
9 IEC 60320 C-13 outlets.

The power strip is mounted horizontally on the bottom side of the BCS-24U and BCSC-12U
cabinets.
1.3 BCSC cabinets and module mixing
1.3.1 Modules and cabinets heights
Four different sizes of cabinets are proposed in a 19” wide format. The three models of BCS-
8xx modules fit in this cabinet size. The height of the cabinets as well as the height of the
modules is measured in U (1U=1.75”=44.45 mm). The height of the modules is as follows:
- BCS-COM: 2 U
- BCS-PDU: 4 U
- BCS-805: 1 U
- BCS-810: 2 U
- BCS-815: 4 U
- Power strip: 2U for BCSC-12U and for BCSC-24U cabinet.
The modules can be mixed in a cabinet and cannot exceed the maximum height of the cabi-
net. The cabinets have different heights:
- BCSC-6U is the smallest cabinet: height = 6 U
- BCSC-12U cabinet: height = 12 U
- BCSC-24U cabinet: height = 24 U
- BCSC-38U cabinet: height = 38 U
The BCSC-6U and BCSC-12U are benchtop cabinets whereas the BCSC-24U and BCSC-
38U models are rolling cabinets.
The BCS-PDU is used to distribute and equilibrate power to the different modules requiring
high power. It has to be used only in a cabinet accommodating at least three BCS-815 mod-
ules.
