1 Introduction of the product range
Historically, the first battery tester built by Bio-Logic was a multi-channel instrument. It was
designed to study intercalated ion compounds with long experiment times due to slow diffu-
sion coefficients. Since that time, many improvements have been made.
Following in the steps of our first multi-channel instrument, the BCS-8xx series is a newly
developed multi-channel instrument specifically designed for battery cycling.
Fig. 1: BCS-8xx modules Installed in different cabinet models.
From left to right, cabinet 38U with 8 BCS-815 modules; cabinet 24U with 4 BCS-815 modules,
cabinet 12U with one BCS-815, one BCS-810 and two BCS-805 modules and cabinet 6U with
one BCS-810 and two BCS-805 modules.
The instrument is composed of:
- a communication module, BCS-COM, associated with
- BCS-815 and/or BCS-810 and/or BCS-805 modules
- a power distribution unit, BCS-PDU (necessary for more than two BCS-815 modules)
- a cabinet, BCSC-6U, BCSC-12U, BCSC-24U or BCSC-38U
The BCS-8xx series offers three different modules: BCS-805, BCS-810 and BCS-815. They
have different current and voltage capabilities.
- The BCS-805 has a maximum current of ±150 mA on a [0-10] V range
- The BCS-810 has a maximum current of ±1.5 A on a [0-10] V range
- The BCS-815 has a maximum current of ±15 A on a [1-9] V range (or on a [0-9] V
range for BCS-815 with 0V option)
