SmartControl™ Meter & TouchPoint™ 41 9E-926
Operation Instructions
Retract Delay (SmartControl Meter)
The Retract Delay allows the vacuum in the claw to bleed off
before retracting the milking unit. This reduces the pulling
force on the teats when removing the cups.
Claw Drop Delay (Both)
The Claw Drop Delay is the time from Detach to when the claw
is allowed to drop. This time should be set longer than the total
time of Milk Sweep Delay and Sweep On Time. In parallel par-
lors, dropping the claw gives the milkers better access to the
cow’s udders when prepping the cow.
Claw Lift Timeout (Both)
The Claw Lift Timeout is set to “drop” the claw back down if an
attach did not occur.
Claw Lift Group Size (Both)
The Claw Lift Group Size will determine how many stalls will
have the claw lifted.
Maximum Manual Time (SmartControl Meter)
The Maximum Manual Time can be set to limit the amount
of time that a detacher can stay in Manual mode. When the
time is reached, the unit will automatically return to Automatic
mode.
Manual Milk Time (SmartControl Meter)
The Manual Milk Time can be set to limit the amount of time
that a detacher can stay in Manual mode when milk ow is de-
tected. When milk ow is continuous for the time specied, the
unit will automatically return to Automatic mode.
Milk Sweep Delay (SmartControl Meter)
The Milk Sweep Delay is commonly used with backush sys-
tems. The delay starts at Detach and ends when the sweep
starts. The delay allows the milk to collect in the low spots of
the milk hose before the sweep starts.
Milk Sweep On Time (SmartControl Meter)
The Milk Sweep On Time is the time that the milk shutoff is
open to allow system vacuum to pull the milk from the milk
hose.
System Adjustment Factor (SmartControl Meter)
The System Adjustment Factor is used to compensate for dif-
ferences between milking parlors, vacuum levels, hose lengths,
claws and other factors. All meters are adjusted to the same
value.
