IPv6 view.
The 10/100 BASE-T management port corresponding to eth2 is located at the front of
the probe and is labelled Management. For the data/video port corresponding to eth0
the user can choose between the electrical 10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet port labelled
10/100/1000T or the optical gigabit SFP port labelled SFP.
Connecting the data/video port is mandatory. The probe will only be able to join
multicasts on the eth0 port. For management, the probe supports both in-band
management (i.e. using eth0 for both data/video and management) and separate
management (i.e. using eth2 for management). In any case make sure that the
subnets configured for eth0 and eth2 do not overlap – otherwise the probe will not
work properly.
Dual stack functionality enables the probe to support both IPv4 and IPv6 for
management.
IP settings - data/video (eth0)
Enable DHCP: If enabled, IP-address (eth0), netmask (eth0) and gateway are
updated by a remote DHCP server next time the probe boots.
IPv4 address: IPv4 IP-address of management interface
IPv4 netmask: IPv4 netmask of management interface
Enable
management:
If enabled a web server will be started on eth0 next time the
probe boots.
Speed (copper): Whether to set the management interface to 10MBit/s,
100Mbit/s, 1000Mbit/s or let the probe try to auto negotiate
(default). Applies only to the copper/electrical input port.
Duplex setting: Selects whether to use full duplex (two-way traffic) or half
duplex (one-way at a time) or auto negotiate duplex setting
(default).
Medium: Decides which of the two input ports (copper/electrical or fibre)
to use. Note that the probe can only use one physical input for
eth0.
IP settings - management (eth2)
Enable DHCP: If enabled, IP-address (eth2), netmask (eth2) and gateway are
updated by a remote DHCP server next time the probe boots.
IPv4 address: IPv4 address of the data/video interface
IPv4 netmask: IPv4 netmask of data/video interface
Enable
management:
If enabled a web server will be started on eth2 next time the
probe boots.
Speed (copper): The speed of the interface is always set to auto-negotiate.
Duplex setting: The duplex setting is always set to auto-negotiate.
