CONNECTING AN IPOD USING
THE USB PORT
If your vehicle is equipped with a
CD changer, see "Connecting a
Portable Audio Device Using the
Auxiliary Input Jack" earlier in this
section for information about
connecting an iPod to the sound
system.
Your vehicle is equipped with a
USB port and a special USB/auxilia-
ry input jack cable that connects
an iPod or an iPod Nano to the
sound system.
A standard iPod USB cable cannot
be used.
Connect the USB/auxiliary input
jack cable to the iPod. Then,
connect the other end of the cable
to the auxiliary input jack and the
USB port.
If the engine is on and the iPod is
properly connected, the GM logo
will appear on the iPod display.
The radio automatically begins
playing audio over the vehicle
speakers. Song information will
appear on the iPod display.

For proper operation, the iPod
must have the latest firmware
from Apple
®

Use the volume, tone, and speaker
controls just as you do for the
radio.
Before disconnecting the iPod
from the USB port, press the push-
button under EJECT on the iPod
playback screen.
The iPod battery will recharge
automatically while the ignition is
on or in the accessory position.
When the ignition is turned off
while an iPod is connected using
the USB/auxiliary input jack cable,
the iPod battery will stop charging
and the iPod will automatically
turn off.
Some earlier iPods cannot be
connected using the USB/auxiliary
input jack cable.
If the USB/auxiliary input jack
cable is missing or the iPod is an
earlier model, see "Connecting a
Portable Audio Device Using the
Auxiliary Input Jack" earlier in this
section to connect an iPod to the
radio.
See your dealer if you need to
replace the USB/auxiliary input
jack cable.
