6. Fuel Gage
The fuel gage shows how
much fuel is in the fuel tank.
The fuel gage works only when
the ignition switch is on.
A chime will also sound if the
fuel is low.
The arrow on the gage
indicates the side of the vehicle
where the fuel door is located.
7. Tachometer
The tachometer displays the
engine speed in thousands of
revolutions per minute (RPM).
If your vehicle is a CTS-V
model, your tachometer has
tracer lights that follow the
sweep of the indicator.
See "Feature Customization
Menu" under "Driver
Information Center" later in
this section to turn this feature
on or off.
The tracer lights will flash to
show you when to shift to the
next higher gear.
See the following in Section 3
for more information:
- Automatic Transmission
Driver Shift Control
- Automatic Transmission Tap
Up/Tap Down Shift Controls
-Manual Transmission
When the RPM are too high,
the throttle is closed to reduce
speed.
If your vehicle is a CTS-V
model, the tracer lights will
flash as the engine approaches
the maximum engine speed.
If the RPM do not decrease,
the fuel supply to the engine
will be limited in order to avoid
damage to the engine.
