When using either of these operator controls, the
ram will move when the control is depressed. It
will stop, depending on the AUTO RETURN
selection, when the control is released. The ram
will automatically stop at the top of stroke.
To make another stroke, the palmbuttons
and/or footswitches must be released and then
depressed.
When multiple palmbutton controls or multiple
footswitches are in use, all active controls must
be depressed to run the ram. The ram will stop,
depending on the AUTO RETURN selection,
when any one operator control is released.
Before the ram stroke will resume, all operator
controls must be released and depressed again.
AUTO RETURN: Only when the SINGLE STROKE
mode is active can the AUTO RETURN mode be
selected. To select the desired AUTO RETURN
mode, press the button until the LED indicators
show the desired mode:
Light on – Auto Return ON
Light off – Auto Return OFF
Light flashing – Special Auto Return ON
If AUTO RETURN is OFF (light is off), the ram
will stop on the down stroke or the up stroke any
time an active operator control is released. If
AUTO RETURN is ON (light is on solid, not flash-
ing), the ram will stop on the down stroke any
time an active operator control is released. On
the up stroke, the ram will continue moving to
the programmed top stop even if any of the active
operator controls are released.
If the SPECIAL AUTO RETURN is ON (light flash-
ing), the up stroke operates the same as the
standard AUTO RETURN mode, but the down
stroke is modified when a footswitch is used.
(Note: HAND/FOOT SEQUENCE cannot be used
in this mode. An error message will be displayed
if both operator station and footswitch are select-
ed. If operator station is ON with the footswitch
OFF, the SPECIAL AUTO RETURN mode will oper-
ate the same as standard AUTO RETURN.) The
ram is on the down stroke until one of the rever-
sal criteria is met, reversal position or tonnage.
On the down stroke, the ram may be stopped or
raised using the footswitch. The footswitch has
three positions. When the footswitch is all the
way down, the ram will move down. If the
footswitch is raised to the middle position, the
ram will stop. If the footswitch is released to the
full up position, the ram will move up until the
programmed top stop is reached or until the
footswitch is depressed again. If two footswitch-
es are used, both must be fully down to make
the ram move down; both must be fully up to
make the ram move up; all other combinations
will cause the ram to stop. If the ram returns to
the top of the stroke before the reversal position
or tonnage is achieved, the program will not
advance to the next step. (The SPECIAL AUTO
RETURN mode can be enabled and disabled in
the CONFIGURATION screen.)
“HAND/FOOT SEQUENCE” - To use a combi-
nation of palmbuttons and footswitch controls
for either of the above modes, the OPERATOR
STATION selector and the FOOTSWITCH selector
must be in the “LEFT”, “RIGHT” or “BOTH” posi-
tion. In addition, it is necessary to have the
DOWN STROKE STOP ON for all steps. This
mode of operation is referred to as HAND/FOOT
SEQUENCE.
In this mode, the ram is moved to the down
stroke stop position (SPEED CHANGE POSI-
TION) by using the palmbuttons. The footswitch
then controls the ram for the remainder of the
cycle. Releasing the active operator control will
stop the ram on the down stroke. Releasing the
active operator control on the up stroke will
either stop the ram immediately or automatical-
ly return the ram to the top of stroke depending
on the position of the AUTO RETURN selector.
IMPORTANT: When using Hand / Foot Sequence,
the speed change point must be no higher
than 0.25” above the material.
The Hand/Foot Sequence indicator will be illu-
minated when all conditions are met for correct
operation (i.e. Down Stop On, Footswitches and
Palmbutton Operator Stations On).
MAIN DRIVE - START and STOP Pushbuttons:
To start the main drive motor, the START push-
button is held depressed. The motor will start if
all components are operating properly. When the
STOP pushbutton is depressed, all power to the
main drive motor, operator controls and gage is
turned off. The main drive motor and hydraulic
pump will stop.
FORM SPEED SELECT: This pushbutton, when
depressed, will change the selection for the form-
ing speed value to “HIGH”, “MEDIUM” or “LOW”
speed. The selection will be illuminated. See
SECTION 7 for more information on this control.
STROKE STOPS: This pushbutton, when
depressed, will change the selection for the
stroke stops to either “OFF” “UP STOP, ON”,
“DOWN STOP, ON” or “BOTH”. See SECTION 7
for more information on this control.
