PROGRAMMING
The Multi-Axis Control offers multi-step program-
ming (99 steps), angle mode reversal calculations,
CNC backgage control, non-volatile memory for
program storage and RS-232 Communications for
remote program storage.
Shown below is the first screen of the Multi-Axis
Control after powering-up and pressing any key.
The screen contrast can be adjusted (lightened or
darkened) by depressing and holding the Up or
Down arrow keys when the MAIN MENU is dis-
played. Pressing the MAIN MENU key once will
change screens to show the following. The MAIN
MENU key will alternate between the two screens.
To the right of the display are four softkey buttons.
Labels on the screen identify the function of the
buttons. Pressing one of the buttons will either per-
form the action or change to another screen. The
area at the bottom of the screen provides a single
line of information to the operator. It can either be
a status message or an error message. The title of
the particular screen always appears at the bottom
in a reversed font.
This screen is referred to as the MAIN MENU. Press
the button, to the right of the data entry keys,
marked MAIN MENU to return to the MAIN MENU
screen from all other screens. The entries required
by the operator for a valid program are located in the
JOB DATA and PROGRAM DATA screens. Recalling
and saving a program from internal memory or from
Offline using communications may be done in the
STORAGE/COMM screen. The CONFIGURATION
screen is used to enter service accessible machine
parameters and some user-selectable values.
To select a particular screen from the MAIN MENU,
the softkeys may be used to go to that screen. The
MAIN MENU screen always shows the current pro-
gram which is in active memory. There is only one
program allowed in active memory at a given time.
All other programs exist in internal memory.
Note: As described in SECTION 6, both CONTROLS
keyswitches must be ON to enter, edit, load or
store any programs.
ENTER NEW PROGRAM
This function is used to erase the current pro-
gram in active memory and begin stepping the
operator through the entry of a new program.
The operator will always be prompted to verify
that the current program will be erased before
clearing active memory.
ERASE CURRENT PROGRAM, Y/N?
Two softkeys will appear allowing the operator to
select either YES or NO.
A program on the Multi-Axis Control is defined by
the values programmed on the JOB DATA and PRO-
GRAM DATA screens.
Upon selecting the YES response the control will
automatically switch to the JOB DATA screen. The
operator may also go directly to the JOB DATA
screen to edit the existing information.
JOB DATA
Shown below is the JOB DATA screen. Note the val-
ues shown on the screen are the default values
which will be set if the ENTER NEW PROG function
was pressed, otherwise the values displayed will be
from the current program.
