● Remove the rear under cover.
● Remove the primary wire.
● Measure the resistance between the two terminals of
the ignition primary coil.
● If the resistance value is within the specified range the
coil is good.
● If resistance is ∞ (infinite), replace the coil with a new
one.
STANDARD VALUE : 0.1~0.2
Ω
● With the spark plug cap on, measure the resistance
between the primary coil terminal and the spark plug
cap.
● If the resistance value is within the specified range,
then the coil is good.
● If the resistance is ∞ (open wire), disconnect the spark
plug cap and measure the secondary coil resistance.
STANDARD VALUE : 7.3~11.0

● Without the spark plug cap, measure the resistance
between the primary coil terminal and high-tension
code.
● If the resistance value is within the specified range,
then the coil is good.
● If the resistance is ∞ (infinite), replace the coil with
new one.
STANDARD VALUE : 3.6~4.6

REPLACEMENT
● Remove the high-tension cord from the plug, remove
the plug cap.
● Remove the wire from the ignition coil.
● Remove the primary wire from the ignition coil.
● Loosen the ignition coil fixing bolt securing the frame,
Remove the ignition coil.
● Install in the reverse order of removal.
●Since the resistance value of the primary coil is
inherently very small, it is difficult to distinguish it
from a shorted wire.
