HA upgrade overview
The single node to HA upgrade requires a Professional Services engagement.
Both nodes in an HA pair must have an identical configuration. If any of the following values are different between the two
nodes, the upgrade cannot be performed. Both nodes must:
● Be the same model. (For example, you cannot configure a DD9410 system in an HA pair with a DD9910 system.)
● Have the same amount of memory.
● Have the same HBAs installed in the same slots.
● Have the same DDOS version.
All alerts on the existing node must be resolved. Run the alerts show current command to display all alerts on the system.
Prepare the system for HA
Prerequisites
Complete the following prerequisites before beginning the single node to HA upgrade.
1. If necessary, upgrade the DD OS version on the existing system to the same version that is installed on the new
PowerProtect node.
The DDOS Administration Guide and DDOS Release Notes provide instructions to upgrade the DDOS version on the existing
node.
2. If any data connections exist in the HA interconnect ports of the existing node, move those connections to new ports.
The HA interconnect on DD9410 and DD9910 systems requires ports c and d on the NIC installed in slot 7.
