Chapter 7: Alarm, Alerts, and Sounds
The alarm and alerts help your patient stay on track by telling them
when they’re outside their target range and when they’re at or
below 55.
The Urgent Low Alarm can’t be changed or turned off, however your
patient can customize alerts. From their smart device: Menu > Alerts.
Have your patient make all alerts visible on their smart phone’s
lock screen.
Depending on the device and its settings, the G6 Pro will make a noise,
or vibrate, or a combination of both. Glucose alarm and glucose alerts
will override the app’s mute/silent feature.
If the patient’s phone is muted, they will still get the following alerts:
• Urgent Low Alarm
• Transmitter failure
• Sensor failure
7.1 Glucose Alarm and Alerts
Urgent Low Alarm
There is only one alarm, the Urgent Low Alarm. The Urgent Low Alarm
tells your patient they are at or below 55 mg/dL.
Low and High Alerts
Don’t forget to write down your unblinded patient’s low and high alert
levels on their material.
