To change the belts(item 1):
1. Remove tension on the tightening sheave (item 2)
by loosening completely the right-hand spring (item
3). The square end of the spring rod (item 4) should
be easily pulled by hand out of the frame (see ar-
row). Use the handle (item 5).
2. Dismantle the tightening sheave (item 2) and the
idler sheave (item 6) by removing the shaft bolts
(item 7).
3. Remove the worn belts (item 8). Put new belts in
place and reinstall the tightening and idler sheaves.
Wrap the new belts (item 10) (three at a time)
around the drive sheave (item 9) as shown (see ar-
row). Make sure that belts are not twisted. Refer to
page 125 to tighten the new belts.
