OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
HOW TO BY-PASS THE METAL DETECTOR
FIGURE 130
NOTE: Warranty
coverage will not extend to con-
sequential
damages.
When the metal detector fails to operate, it can be useful
to by-pass the system in order to nish a full harvest
day. However, when doing so, it must be taken into con-
sideration that this is an emergency and exceptional
situation. If this is the case, follow this procedure:
1. Using the REVERSE, run the attachment for a few
seconds in order to allow the stop pawl (item 1) to
return to its UP position.
2. Switch OFF the breaker/switch (items 2 and 3) on
the electrical control box.
3. Stop the PTO and switch off tractor engine.
4. Engage the parking brake on the tractor.
5. Open the transmission guard and attach the stop
pawl spring (item 4) back to the second hook (see
the arrow). Make sure the pawl clears the ratchet
stop cam.
6. Turn ON the breaker (item 2) that controls the elec-
tric cylinders and leave the switch (item 3) that con-
trols the metal detector OFF.
7. Restart the tractor engine and resume work.
NOTE: When the metal detector is not used, the Forage
Harvester is no longer protected against ferrous
objects. This must be repaired as soon as pos-
sible to prevent damage to the machine.
NOTE: Remember to hook the stop pawl spring (item
4) back to its original position before using the
metal detector.
