2.
R.EPAIR.ING
THE
CLUTCH
AND
BRAKE
CABLES
AND
LEVERS
Whatever
r
epa
irs of
the
motor
cycle m
ay
be
undertaken,
always
check
the
cables
for
good
condition.
If
only
a s
ingle
wire
of
the
cab
le is found to be
ruptured
or
the
cab
le s
heath
is pinched,
drawn
or
broken,
replace
the
cable
or
its
sh
eat
h.
In
case
the
cab
l
e-to
-end piece
connect
ion
is
disturbed
(the
e
nd
piece pu
ll
ed off
the
cab
l
e),
sold
er
a
new
end piece,
after
firs t
drawing
apart
the
wires
at
the
end
of
the
cable
to
ens
ur
e a
bett
er
con
nection.
The
handleb
ar
le
vers
must
be
screwed
onto
their
bases
with-
out
play,
but
in
such
a
way
th
at
they
can
freely
turn
on
th
eir axl
es
.
When
inspect
ing
th
e
handlebar,
proper
attention
s
hould
be
given
to
the
attachment
of
handlebar
brackets
to
the
fork
traverse.
Check
for
the
absen
ce of
cracks
at
the
base
of
the
bracket
which
is
used to
sec
ure
the
handlebar
to
the
tra
verse.
Replace
the
brackets,
if
found
defective.
To
remove
the
bracket
s
from
th
e
handlebar
tube
,
screw
off
the
nuts
of
the
bolts
fastening
the
handlebar
tube
with
the
brackets,
ins
ert
a
wedge
plate
into
the
slot of
lhe
bracket
and,
by
driving
the
plate
in,
widen
the
slot in
su
ch a
way
that
the
bracket
can be
removed
from
the
handl
ebar
lub
e.
Fit
the
brackets
in
the
rev
erse
sequence
of
operations.
XII. REPAIRING THE FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM
1.
DISMANTLING AND ASSEMBLING
THE
K-3016
CARBUR.ETTOR.
To
dismantle
the
carburettor,
proceed
as
follows:
undo
the
sc
rews
securing
the
fl
oat
chamber
cove
r,
remove
the
cover
and
take
out
the
float
with
the
obturating
needle;
undo
the
sc
rews
securing
the
cover
of
the
carburettor
throttle,
remove
the
cover,
extract
the
spring,
take
out
the
flat
throttle
with
the
dosing
needl
e;
unscrew
the
plug
and
screw
out
the
main
jet;
screw
out
the
idling
jet;
screw
out
the
idle
adjustment
screw;
unscrew
the
plug
and
remove
the
carburettor
filter.
Thorou
.g
hly
wash
the
dismantled
parts,
blow
through
the
chan-
nels
with
compressed
air,
inspect
the
parts,
check
lhe
float
for
air
-
tightness
and
the
carburetto
r
fastening
flange
for
flatness.
The jets must never be cleaned with a steel wire.
After
the
inspection
has
been
completed
and
required
repairs
per
-
formed,
re-as
se
mble
the
carburettor
in
reverse
order.
